The range is open Monday through Saturday from 8 am to sunset and Sundays from 1 pm to sunset. The range is closed during scheduled pistol shoots and the shotgun and muzzleloader deer hunting season.
The shooting range at Singletary is used to shoot both long guns and handguns. A shooter may use any caliber firearm up to, but not including .50 caliber centerfire rifle ammunition. Shooters are not limited to .50 caliber black powder or handguns, but not rifles. Incendiary ammunition is not allowed due to possible fire hazards in the brush on the range.
The range has about 20 shooting benches in a line at the firing line under a pavilion roof. This provides protection from the sun and rain in warm weather and covers from the snow in the winter.
From the fire line, there are clear lines the width of the range at 25, 50, 75, and 100 yards with a berm at about 115 yards. There is a second berm at 250 yards for longer-distance shooting.
The safety rules are posted in front of the pavilion and at the left-hand end of the pavilion. When arriving to shoot, members are required to sign a register located in a box on the side of the clubhouse at the range. The clubhouse is open during all club-sponsored competitions. Targets cannot be attached or mounted to the steel support columns at the 250-yard pavilion roof.
Day Memberships are valid only for use of the Rifle Range and the Host Member must be present at the time of use. The cost is $5 per person and envelopes are available at the Range. The completed envelope should go into the slot at the check-in station. Please note that failure to register the Day Member will result in Club Membership suspension.
